Weekly Nova team meeting

MEETING TIME: Thursdays alternating 14:00 UTC (#openstack-meeting) and 21:00 UTC (#openstack-meeting)

This meeting is a weekly gathering of developers working on OpenStack Compute (Nova). We cover topics such as release planning and status, bugs, reviews, and other current topics worthy of real-time discussion.

NOTE: this wiki page should be 'emptied' at the end of each meeting.

  • Cells v2 (dansmith)
  • Scheduler (edleafe)
    • Went over current specs and reviews. No big controversy on any of them, since we saved discussion of the "placement doing claims" spec for a hangout after the meeting.
    • cdent shook his tiny little fist at the news that _gryf was assigned to different tasks and will no longer be able to work on OpenStack.
    • Agreed that we need to create a functional test for the local delete case. (https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1679750 )
    • jimbaker introduced himself as someone who wants to join the scheduler/placement efforts. He will start by doing some performance evaluations.

  • API (sdague/alex_xu)
    • Mostly talked about getting rid of os-cloudpipe when we get rid of os-certificates and the nova-cert service

    • No meeting this week as nobody showed up
  • PowerVM (efried, thorst)
    • First driver change set https://review.openstack.org/#/c/438119/ has +2 from mriedem - ready for broader review.
