Installation notes
PYTHON 2.6 REQUIRED!!!
For developers
- Get Redis
curl http://redis.googlecode.com/files/redis-2.0.0-rc4.tar.gz -o redis-2.0.0-rc4.tar.gz tar xvfz redis-2.0.0-rc4.tar.gz cd redis-2.0.0-rc4
- Make and start Redis server
make ./redis-server
- Get BZR
http://wiki.bazaar.canonical.com/Download
SUDO MAY NOT BE NECESSARY
- Get virtualenv
sudo easy_install virtualenv
- Get PIP
sudo easy_install pip
- UBUNTU ONLY!!!
sudo apt-get build-dep python-m2crypto
- Get Nova and run tests
bzr init bzr branch lp:nova cd nova python tools/install_venv.py ./run_tests.sh
- Set up python path for using nova

- Activate the virtual environment (type deactivate to leave it later)
