Weekly Solum Team Meeting

If you're interested in Solum, we hold public meetings weekly in #openstack-meeting-alt on freenode. Because the Solum team is globally distributed, we use different meeting times on alternating weeks to allow for attendance from those on the opposite side of the globe.

  • Founding members of the Solum project requested a lightweight governance process. We have avoided making anything more complicated than contributors want.
  • Election Details
    • Electorate
      • The electorate is comprised of all individuals who made contributions to Solum during the 2014.01.01 release (concurrent with OpenStack Icehouse).
    • Candidacy
      • Candidates may send an email to openstack-dev@lists.openstack.org with the subject [Solum] Solum PTL Candidacy
      • Determine due date for candidacy emails (for OpenStack this was April 2014-04-04)
    • Election Official
      • Selection of an election official. Should we ask our current PTL to appoint (or act as) an election official?
    • Election Rules
      • The candidate with the largest number of votes prevails as the new PTL, as confirmed by the election official.
      • If no new candidates are announced, should we still hold an election, or should we auto-extend the term of the current PTL?
      • Do we need a secret ballot system, or can we simply hold a vote in our IRC channel during a scheduled meeting, or with a Gerrit review, and a deadline for participation?
