Weekly OpenStack Nova API Meeting

This is a weekly meeting to discuss the Nova API. It's intended as a forum for:

  • People to keep up with what work is going on with the Nova API and where it is headed
  • Cloud providers, SDK maintainers and direct users of the REST API to provide feedback about the API and what they want out of it
  • Help coordinate ongoing development work on the API

Meetings

  • Meeting Time: Weekly, Fridays at 00:00 UTC
  • IRC channel: #openstack-meeting
  • Chaired by: Chris Yeoh (sometimes, Ken'ichi Ohmichi)

Agenda

Please feel free to add items to the Agenda

  • Design summit sessions
    • V2.1 on V3 API
    • V3 API
  • Progress on API Response validation in tempest
  • Progress on SDK port for v3 API
  • v2.1/v3 API sessions for the summit
  • V3 tightens and makes input validation for names consistent across the API, In a V2.1 on V3 scenario what does this mean for accessing existing names in the db.
    • Can some data no longer be accessed because the name is no longer valid?
    • Is it possible to get a better feel for whether this is a real issue or not if by providing the the new standard acceptable name regexp for V3 and asking the big cloud providers if they are able to see if there are a non trivial number of examples where existing names in the db would not match? (presumably they have offline db dumps they could fairly easily analyse and give some feedback)
  • Open Discussion
