Weekly Nova team meeting

MEETING TIME: Thursdays 16:00 UTC (#openstack-meeting-3)

The Thursday 8:00 UTC slot is kept as a unofficial office hour on #openstack-nova for contributors who cannot attend on the official meeting slot.

This meeting is a weekly gathering of developers working on OpenStack Compute (Nova). We cover topics such as release planning and status, bugs, reviews, and other current topics worthy of real-time discussion.

    • Feature Freeze was last week.
    • Everything has been merged that was approved til FF.
    • FFE is granted for the VDPA series which mostly landed since. We have one outstanding patch blocking unsupported server lifecycle operations with VDPA #link https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/nova/+/780333/5
    • bauzas still working on the RPC 6.0 major version bump. It would be nice to finish with that this week #link https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/nova/+/761452
    • We implemented 13 out of the 20 (65%) approved blueprints in Wallaby. This is a better result than in the last cycle.
    • Here is the release tracking ether pad #link https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/nova-wallaby-rc-potential with TODOs
    • We have to produce RC1 on 25th of March, which is next Thursday
    • please use wallaby-rc-potential tag on bugs that you consider warranting a new RC if fixed
    • bauzas volunteered to write the reno prelude
