** (TheJulia) The ironic team inquires if it would be possible to allow a semi-privileged, non-admin, user to be able to update the MAC address of port VIFs. As some may remember, the API field is restricted to being updated by an admin, and Ironic must update the MAC address to that of the physical machine prior to deploy. Ironic passes the token for the requesting user through to Neutron, but as we've added multi-tenancy support we are finding that user deployment requests are erroring on a lack of ability to update the mac address field in neutron. In the past this was not an issue as all Ironic users were essentially admin users or service accounts such of that of Nova.
