Weekly Metering meeting

The ceilometer metering project team holds a meeting in #openstack-meeting:

• Even weeks on Thursdays at 1500 UTC.
• Odd weeks on Wednesdays at 2100 UTC

• Last week action: jd__ and dhellmann to write formal statement about limiting support for pre-grizzly versions of ceilometer
• Last week action: blueprint-owners, set milestones on all blueprints
• Tracking of bug #1176017, releasing of MIM
  • Until this is resolved, let's keep this on our agenda because it's really important
  • dhellmann now has access to prepare releases of Ming
  • Version 0.3.4 was released and is being added to the OS requirements list https://review.openstack.org/#/c/29121/
• Consider use of Diamond instead of the CM Pollster. It seems to do all we want today (but would just need a new handler for CM) http://opensource.brightcove.com/project/diamond/
  • it has lots of existing handlers https://github.com/BrightcoveOS/Diamond/wiki/Handlers and even more collectors https://github.com/BrightcoveOS/Diamond/wiki/Collectors (including Xen and Kvm collectors)
• Idea: using URL as publishing targets formats
  • Rational: with the UDP publisher, we may have several UDP targets, so we need more than one option for the whole plugin; that wasn't needed for the RPC because we don't specify the host on Ceilometer side
• Adding Gordon Chung to core reviewer team (dhellmann)
  • Julien proposed this on the mailing list already. I think we're just waiting the required amount of time for feedback, right?
