Election system

Elections will be held using CIVS and a Condorcet algorithm (Schulze/Beatpath/CSSD variant). Any tie will be broken using Governance/TieBreaking.

Timeline

  • till 05:59 UTC October 27, 2014: Open candidacy to PTL positions
  • October 27, 2014 - 1300 UTC October 31, 2014: PTL elections

Elected position

MagnetoDB project must elect a PTL. PTL will be elected for the Kilo cycle.

Electorate

In order to be an eligible candidate (and be allowed to vote) in a MagnetoDB PTL election, you need to have contributed an accepted patch to one of the MagnetoDB's (sub)projects during the Icehouse-Juno-early Kilo timeframe.

Candidates

Any member of an election electorate can propose his/her candidacy for the same election. No nomination is required. They do so by sending an email to the openstack-dev@lists.openstack.org mailing-list, which the subject: "[MagnetoDB] PTL candidacy". The email can include a description of the candidate platform. The candidacy is then confirmed by one of the election officials, after verification of the electorate status of the candidate.
