I am Jake Dahn, and I would like to be your Horizon PTL.

I've been working on Horizon since before openstack existed. I've redesigned the interface several times, including the visual look of the up and coming Essex release. I've helped make nearly every feature in horizon work at some point in time.

1b. Since the last elections, what areas have you focused on and what contributions have you made in order to improve your project?

Since the appointment of the current PTL, and horizon's entrance into OpenStack as an official project, I have focussed on improving the overall stability and usability of horizon. I was responsible for the current visual design, and initial migration to twitter's bootstrap framework. I've also worked towards improving client usability.

2b. What are the most pressing/important issues facing your project?

Now that Horizon is working as an interface of launching and managing many resources within openstack, I think we need to streamline the workflows and usability of how end users are going to use the cloud. For example right now to use an instance you probably need to create a keypair, go to the images page, launch instance, assign floating ip, and possibly add a volume once that is said and done. This workflow, among others need to be improved if we are to become a world class cloud dashboard.

3. What is your relationship to OpenStack & why is its success important to you and/or your company?

As a Rackspace Cloudbuilder every day I strive to make all OpenStack components work together, and improve the usability and documentation of each project individually.
