I am Brian Waldon.

I've been working on OpenStack for the past year under the pseudonym 'bcwaldon'. I'm running for the Glance Project Technical Lead and Project Policy Board positions for the Folsom release.

Since the last election, I've focused on Nova, Glance, and Keystone. I added RBAC support to Nova and Glance, helped with the Keystone rewrite, created a Nova -> Keystone migration path, and fixed scores of bugs. I've been focusing on getting these projects working seamlessly together before the next major release.

Specifically in Glance, I spent a lot of time working with the existing PTL (Jay Pipes) designing the new Images API. I've also helped extensively with the day-to-day operations of the project (i.e. reviews, bug triaging, etc).

As I work for Rackspace, I care not only about large public deployments but also small private deployments. I'm hoping to push for a more scalable Glance architecture while implementing the new iteration of the Images API. Many operators have kept Glance behind the scenes during Diablo and Essex, but it needs to be ready for deployment as a public-facing service.
